Martin Koch has built an outstanding reputation within musical theatre having won the prestigious Drama Desk and Tony Award for best orchestration for Billy Elliot, nominated for a Tony award for Mamma Mia! and with his colleague Nick Gilpin nominated for a Grammy award as producers of the Mamma Mia! cast album. His career has seen him serve as musical supervisor to Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Cats, Oliver, Mamma Mia! and Billy Elliot in London and worldwide. Martin Koch and Nick Gilpin run a successful music production company which has been responsible for the orchestrations, keyboard programming and album recordings for Mamma Mia!, Jerry Springer the Opera, Billy Elliot, Bad Girls, John Barrowman The Album and Shoes. Television credits include The Royal Variety Show, Sports Personality of the Year, Kombat Opera (5 mini operas for television); composed, arranged and produced the recording for The Commonwealth Games handover Ceremony in Delhi 2010, Music Supervisor to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies and the composer for the Paralympic Opening Ceremony. Currently composing the music for 2 film projects, one for the US and the other UK.
