Billy Elliot has recently been crowned this year’s Group Line Best Musical, recognising Billy as the best-loved show in the West End for organised groups and tours. The award was presented to the whole cast by Simon Warwick (chairman and founder of Group Line) after the matinee performance last Thursday.

This is now the 82nd theatre award won by Billy Elliot worldwide, and will sit on the show’s crowded mantelpiece alongside ten Tony Awards (including Best Musical), the Lawrence Olivier Best Musical Award, the Evening Standard’s Ned Sherrin Award for Best Musical, and many other plaudits from Australia, Canada and Korea.
