Founded in 1983, Working Title Films has been co-chaired by Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner since 1992. Between them, the pair has produced more than 95 feature films which have amassed over $5 billion at the box office worldwide. To date, their films have won 6 Academy Awards, 26 BAFTAs and won prestigious prizes at the Cannes and Berlin film festivals. Bevan and Fellner have also been honoured with two of the highest film awards given to British filmmakers: the Michael Balcon Award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema at the 2004 BAFTAs and the Alexander Walker Film Award at the Evening Standard British Film Awards in 2005. They have both been awarded with CBEs.
Working Title Films is Europe's most prolific production company as well as the pre-eminent producer of English-language films outside the United States. The company has produced a roster of films that have defied boundaries as well as demographics. Among their commercial and critical hits are Paul; Nanny McPhee Returns; Green Zone; A Serious Man; State Of Play; The Soloist; Frost/Nixon; Billy Elliot; Burn After Reading; Atonement; Pride & Prejudice; United 93; The Interpreter; About A Boy; Notting Hill; Elizabeth; Fargo; Dead Man Walking; Bean; Four Weddings And A Funeral; Bridget Jones’s Diary and Love Actually. 2011 saw the release of the company’s first documentary feature, Asif Kapadia’s highly acclaimed Senna.
Currently on release are Johnny English Reborn directed by Oliver Parker starring Rowan Atkinson, Gillian Anderson and Rosamund Pike and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy directed by Tomas Alfredson starring Colin Firth, Gary Oldman and John Hurt. Forthcoming releases include Big Miracle, starring Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski, directed by Ken Kwapis; Contraband, starring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale directed by Baltasar Kormákur; Anna Karenina starring Keira Knightley, Jude Law and Matthew Macfadyen directed by Joe Wright; and Les Misérables starring Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe directed by Tom Hooper.
Working Title has recently created a new television production company, WTTV. Based in LA and London, WTTV is a joint venture between NBC Universal International, Bevan and Fellner. Upcoming productions include adaptations of 'Birdsong', and ‘The Borrowers’, both for BBC One.
