Kaine Ward - Billy

Hi. My name is Kaine Ward, I am 13 years old and live in Hertfordshire. I live with my mum, Lee and my two crazy dogs Taz and Dillon.

I started dancing at the age of two at The Village School of Dance and Drama with Caroline Simmonds performing in great classic shows like Annie and Bugsy Malone. I want to take this opportunity to personally thank Caroline.

I went to see Billy Elliot for my birthday last November and knew that was what I wanted to do. My first audition was in February and after five months of nerve-wracking auditions I was told I got the part. I couldn’t believe it!!

I want to say a HUGE thank you to all the house parents, chaperones and teachers but especially Damian, Lee, Nikki, Chris, Edward and Julian who have worked hard to get me ready for the London stage. Not forgetting the hardworking backstage crew that you don’t get to see. I wish I had enough space to name everybody involved in this great production but thank you each and every one of you!!

I go to Tring Park School for the Performing Arts which I really enjoy. Even though I love being at Billy I love going back to Tring to see all my friends and teachers. Thank you to them for supporting me through this amazing journey.

I would like to dedicate my first night to all my family but most especially my mum for all her love, support and faith in me.
