David Furnish - Executive Producer

David Furnish was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. He began his career in advertising and became a filmmaker in 1995. His first project was the BAFTA nominated documentary "Elton John - Tantrums & Tiaras".

He set up the film production company, Rocket Pictures, with backing from the Walt Disney company. Rocket has independently produced the features "Women Talking Dirty" and "It's A Boy/Girl Thing". Rocket is currently in production with Touchstone Pictures for the major CG-animated, 3D-feature "Gnomeo & Juliet" which will be released in February 2011.

Rocket also produced the music television series "Spectacle: Elvis Costello with....", which has been critically acclaimed and widely distributed.

David and his partner Elton John recently produced the Tony nominated play "Next Fall" on Broadway.

David is extremely proud of his association with "Billy Elliot - The Musical" and has been involved in productions as they have rolled out across the world.

David also enjoys writing and is a Contributing Editor for British GQ. He is also a Director of the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
